Job Details

• Unit: Operating Rooms (41 ORs), Level 1 Trauma Center
• Shift: Mid shifts, all days of the week; occasional float to early starts (06:45 and 08:45)
• Hours per day: 12 hours
• Hours per week: 36 hours
• Weekend requirements: Yes, as per unit needs
• On-call: No
• Floating: Yes, within other Operating Rooms at the facility
• Patient ratio: 1:1
• Types of cases: General, GU/GYN, Neuro, ENT, Plastic surgery
• Guaranteed hours: No

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Colorado
• Minimum 3 years of OR Circulate experience, including experience within the last year
• One completed travel assignment
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Trauma experience
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Time Off Restrictions

• Maximum of 10 Return to Office (RTO) days approved
• No RTO allowed during these blackout periods:

  • June 28 – July 9, 2026
  • September 2 – September 12, 2026
  • October 25 – November 4, 2026
• Flexibility may be considered for harder-to-fill positions

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Valid Driver’s License/State ID (clear copies front and back)
• E-Verify or attestation required
• Proof of name change if applicable (certifications/licensure must match current legal name)
• Background checks within 60 days of start, including:

  • 7-year background check with SSN trace
  • Colorado Statewide CBI check
  • Education verification from accredited nursing schools (CCNE or ACEN)
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
  • Sex offender search
• Education verification or transcript/diploma acceptable
• NURSYS verification for RN license within 60 days of start
• Colorado CAPS check results within 60 days of start
• Employment application and work history verification covering last 3 years (gaps >30 days must be explained)
• Two professional references from last two years, including one from the past year (Charge RN, Manager, Supervisor, or above)

Health & Safety Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, DO, NP, or PA (not Chiropractor)
• Fit mask test within 12 months of start, updated annually (approved mask types specified)
• Immunizations and titers required:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or signed declination)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity via titer or vaccination
  • Hepatitis B immunity or vaccination series or declination
  • Varicella immunity or vaccination
  • COVID-19 vaccine proof or signed declination (acceptable vaccines: AstraZeneca, Pfizer, Moderna)
• Drug testing within 30 days of start, updated annually (specific drug panel required)
• Color blind exam (Ishihara test) required prior to start (online testing not accepted)

Competency & Certification Exams

• Medication/Pharmacology competency exam (updated annually)
• Core competency exams (Parts I, II, III) with minimum 80% score, updated annually
• Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (updated annually)
• OSHA mandatory training (updated annually)

Additional Notes

• Facility-specific new employee orientation modules must be completed within first two weeks of assignment
• Candidate must confirm renewal plans for any certifications expiring within 90 days of start to avoid clearance issues

This position is ideal for experienced OR Registered Nurses with trauma experience and prior travel contract experience, seeking a 13-week travel assignment in a Level 1 Trauma Center environment.
