Work Schedule
- Shift: Evening, 5 days a week, 8-hour shifts (3:30 PM - 12:00 AM)
- On-call rotation: Weekdays (Monday-Friday) 12:00 AM - 8:00 AM; weekends and holidays 24 hours on call, rotated among all nurses
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (2 weekends per month)
- Occasional weekend day shift (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM)
- Guaranteed 40 hours per week
- No block scheduling
- No time off (RTO) allowed on holidays, weekends, or the day before/after holidays; max 5 days off with no more than 2 consecutive days
Job Details
- Float requirement: Mandatory floating within Radiology and Pain departments as needed
- Staff required to wear lead protection
- Charting system: Cerner
- Facility is a Level 1 Trauma Center
Required Qualifications
- Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in Illinois
- Minimum 1 year of Interventional Radiology Technologist experience within the last year
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- ACLS
- PALS issued by American Heart Association
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
Required Compliance and Documentation
- Government-issued photo ID (driver’s license or state ID)
- Background check within 12 months covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years; Illinois fingerprinting may be required
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
- Physical exam within 12 months, signed by PA, NP, DO, or MD
- Fit mask test (N95 or equivalent) within 1 year; medical or religious exemptions require approval for onsite PAPR use
- Immunizations and health screenings:
- Tdap vaccine within 10 years or signed declination
- Negative TB test (QGold or TSPOT) within 12 months; chest x-ray if positive TB history
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer with booster if low titer
- Hepatitis B series, titer, or signed declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer with booster if low titer
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season (Oct-May)
- Negative 9-panel drug screen within 90 days of start; marijuana testing not required
- Annual competency exams including medication/pharmacology and color blindness testing (if applicable)
- NIH Stroke Certification required annually for RNs in Interventional Radiology and related specialties

- References and employment application required per state and agency standards
- Staff must complete facility-specific forms and comply with rules of behavior
- This is a mandatory float facility; flexibility to work in multiple departments is required
This position is ideal for experienced RNs with a background in Pain Management or Interventional Radiology seeking a travel contract with evening shifts and on-call responsibilities in a Level 1 Trauma Center environment.
