CVOR Tech - Surgical Services

Location: Greensburg, Pennsylvania
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: Day shift, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM (8-hour shifts)
• Typical workday: 7 AM patient start; team punches in at 5:45 AM and out at 2:15 PM
• On-call:

  • Weekday call from home, must be able to arrive onsite within 30 minutes (3 PM until next day)
  • Weekend call is 24 hours, approximately once a month
• Experience:

  • CVOR experience required
  • Open heart surgery experience preferred

Required Qualifications

• CVOR Technologist with at least 1 year of experience
• CVOR Technologist experience within the last year

Experience Requirements

• Specialty: Surgical Services (CVOR Tech)
• Minimum years of experience: Not explicitly stated, but CVOR experience is mandatory
• Prior travel experience: Not required

Health and Background Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start date
• Negative TB test (PPD, QuantiFERON Gold, or T-spot) within 1 year; if past positive, negative chest x-ray within 1 year plus annual TB questionnaire
• Immunizations or titers within 10 years for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B (vaccine series, positive titer, or signed declination)
• Seasonal flu vaccination required during flu season (Oct 1 – Apr 1), declinations accepted
• Negative 15-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
• Background checks within 30 days of start including:

  • SS Trace and County searches for last 7 years
  • Nationwide and sex offender registry
  • Pennsylvania statewide background check
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
• Pennsylvania Department of Human Services fingerprint results required prior to start
• Pennsylvania Child Abuse Search required prior to start

Facility-Specific Requirements

• Completion of various facility-specific documents prior to start, including:

  • Emergency contact form
  • Orientation checklist
  • Pandemic attestation
  • Code of conduct
  • Confidentiality agreement
  • Disclosure statement
  • Job description acknowledgment
  • Various training and competency assessments (e.g., patient policy, skin integrity, mobility, catheter training)
• Photo for badge required
• Facility will provide first week’s schedule and direct contact within 48 hours of start

Additional Notes

• Religious and medical COVID-19 exemptions must be formally documented and signed
• Must be able to respond to on-call duties within 30 minutes from home
• References:

  • 2 professional references required for travel, allied, or per diem acute care roles (within 3 years)

This position is ideal for a CVOR Tech with solid surgical services experience, comfortable with on-call responsibilities, and able to meet comprehensive health and background screening requirements.
