Description
Physical Therapist - Outpatient
Location: Abilene, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, Monday to Thursday 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM, Friday 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM (varies as needed)
Hours per Week: 40 hours
Job Description
- Focus on pelvic and perinatal health therapy and rehabilitation.
- Responsible for evaluating and treating patients within this specialty.
- Outpatient physical therapy setting.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Physical Therapist license in Texas
Required Certifications & Competencies
- Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA accepted (Instructor, Provider, or RQI).
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - AHA accepted (Instructor, Provider, or RQI).
- Other certifications as applicable based on specialty and facility requirements.
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable.
- Competency exams as required by profession.
Background & Compliance Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).
- 7-year background check within 1 year of start, updated annually.
- Federal and state-level screenings including EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG within 30 days of start.
- Education verification (transcript or diploma acceptable).
- Texas-specific employability and employee misconduct registry checks within 30 days of start.
- Facility-specific acknowledgments and agreements (e.g., confidentiality, compliance, patient-centered pledge) must be reviewed and signed prior to start.
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start; must be completed within 72 hours of contract signing.
- Fit mask (3M 1860 Regular or 1860S), updated annually.
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray per facility protocol.
- Required immunizations or positive titers for:
- Measles (Rubeola)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (or declination)
- Varicella
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Seasonal flu vaccination required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31), with religious or medical exemptions accepted.
- Negative 10-panel drug screen including THC within 10 business days prior to start; facility will conduct additional drug screening on arrival.
Additional Requirements
- Two professional references within 3 years.
- Resume or employment application required.
- Annual skills checklist and orientation safety manual acknowledgment.
- Facility-specific orientation modules (~3-4 hours).
- Completion of facility-specific forms prior to start (e.g., traveler identification, background check authorization).
