Description

Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) - Meridian, Idaho

Job Details

  • Location: Meridian, Idaho
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks
  • Shift: Days
  • Hours: 4 shifts per week, 10 hours per shift (07:30 AM – 06:00 PM)
  • Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend days per 8-week schedule
  • Holiday Requirement: None
  • Dress Code: Any color scrubs
  • Orientation: At least 2 days of department-specific onboarding with staff SLP; first week travelers work Monday-Friday 8-hour shifts to accommodate onboarding
  • EMR System: EPIC
  • Patient Load: 8 to 10 patients per day
  • Staffing: 2-3 therapists per day
  • Unit Coverage: All inpatient adult units
  • Care Settings: Acute inpatient and outpatient (video fluoroscopic swallow study - VFSS)

Required Qualifications

  • Licensure/Certification:
    • BLS Certification
    • Certified Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP)
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 1 year of acute care experience
    • ICU experience required
    • Competency in video fluoroscopic swallow studies (VFSS)
  • Travel Experience:
    • Open to first-time travelers (prior travel experience not required)

Patient Population and Common Diagnoses

  • General medical patients
  • Stroke/neurological conditions
  • COPD/CHF

Additional Information

  • No rehab aides staffed
  • Manager present on each shift
  • Facility enforces a 50-mile radius rule for candidate residence verification prior to profile review
