Job Opportunity: Operating Room Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Baton Rouge, Louisiana
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (Operating Room)
• Schedule: 5 days per week, 8-hour shifts
• Shift Times:

  • 6:15 AM – 2:45 PM
  • 10:45 AM – 7:15 PM
• Late stay required
• Mandatory 1 weekend of call per contract
• No local candidates accepted
• Prior travel nursing experience required

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse license in Louisiana
• Minimum of 1 year of Operating Room Circulate experience, with experience within the last year
• Completion of at least one prior travel nursing assignment
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Copy of valid photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
• Criminal background check (updated if no assignment within last 90 days)
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
• Physical exam within 1 year, signed by a physician
• Annual respirator fit testing (Fit Mask)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, with appropriate documentation for converters or BCG vaccinated workers
• 12-panel drug screen within 90 days prior to start (includes amphetamines, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, cocaine, marijuana, MDMA, methadone, opiates, oxycodone, PCP, tricyclic antidepressants)
• Signed System Access and Confidentiality Agreement prior to start
• Completion of Healthstream courses during orientation, including glucose testing return demonstration
• Two professional references required

Vaccination and Exemption Policies

• Influenza vaccination not required for employment; medical or religious exemption forms accepted with proper documentation
• COVID-19 vaccination exemptions accepted with facility-specific forms and review
• Varicella, MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella), and Hepatitis B documentation not required by client but may be collected per standard procedures

Additional Notes

• Medication and pharmacology competency exams as required by specialty
• Competency exams required as per profession/specialty standards
• Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) and Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certifications are not specified as required for this role
