Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Radiology

Location: Greenville, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Shift: Day shift, 5 days a week, 8 hours per day (7:30 AM - 4:00 PM)
  • Hours per week: 40 hours
  • Call: Weekday call every other week from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM
  • Weekend Requirement: 1 weekend every 12 weeks (may change based on need)
  • Floating: Required

Patient Population / Diagnoses

  • Diabetes
  • Cancer
  • Peripheral Vascular Disease (PVD)
  • Carotid Stenosis
  • Hemorrhage
  • Aneurysm
  • End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD)

Unit & Procedures

  • Moderate sedation
  • Prep and recovery of patients for Interventional Radiology (IR), Neuroendovascular, and Diagnostic procedures
  • Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) recovery
  • Imaging modalities: CT, MRI, Ultrasound
  • Medication system: Pyxis
  • Must have at least 1 year of EPIC electronic health record experience

Required Certifications

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or ARC only, RQI acceptable
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC only, RQI acceptable
  • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification
  • Pass/Fail Testing (Medication and EKG/Arrhythmia exams) required prior to orientation
  • Other certifications may be required based on unit specifics (e.g., TNCC, ENPC, EFM)

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in South Carolina
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Minimum 1 year of Interventional Radiology nursing experience within the last year
  • Radiology nursing experience required
  • Experience with Epic electronic health record system
  • Completion of at least one travel nursing assignment
  • Current ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Current BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • NIHSS certification

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

  • Driver’s License required immediately upon signing for computer access and must be carried on duty
  • Background check covering 7 years, including alias and multi-state searches, must be current within 12 months
  • E-Verify or attestation required
  • Drug screening within 1 year, updated annually (5-panel minimum)
  • Physical exam within 1 year attesting ability to meet job demands
  • Immunizations and/or titers required:
    • TB test (True 2-step PPD, Quantiferon Gold, or Tspot) within 90 days
    • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella: positive titer or 2 vaccines (second vaccine may be pending with timeline)
    • Hepatitis B vaccination series, positive titer, or signed declination
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years for high-risk areas
    • Seasonal Flu vaccine or approved exemption required by deadlines
  • Respirator Fit Test completed onsite during orientation
  • Photo for badge (passport-style, specific background and quality requirements)
  • Completion of online Cornerstone modules within 72 hours of assignment acceptance (approx. 12 hours)
  • Floating policy acknowledgment required

Additional Notes

  • Candidates must complete all required online testing and modules before being cleared to start
  • Testing includes medication and arrhythmia exams with strict pass/fail rules and limited attempts
  • Candidates must be prepared to complete testing on a desktop or laptop (no mobile devices)
  • Annual competency exams and core training modules required, including OSHA and patient safety topics
  • Facility is latex-free; latex allergies are acceptable
  • Prior travel experience is mandatory; no first-time travelers accepted
