Rad Tech Position - West Virginia

Location

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Work Schedule

• Shifts: Evening and Night
• Hours per day: 10
• Hours per week: 40
• Shift pattern: 2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on (8-hour shifts)
• Day shifts: Various start times between 6:00 AM and 9:30 AM
• Afternoon shift: 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM
• Midnight shift: 12:00 AM – 8:00 AM
• Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday requirement: May be asked to participate in holiday rotation
• Overnight shifts: Will be the only tech on site

Department & Duties

• Imaging modalities: General X-ray, Fluoroscopy, OR cases (cystoscopy, ortho, GI), portable X-rays, C-Arms
• Department equipment: 4 rooms (3 general X-ray, 1 fluoro), 2 portable units, 3 C-Arms (OEC)
• Common studies: General X-ray, OR cases, Fluoro cases (ortho & GI)
• Average volume: Approximately 110 scans/studies per day
• Float coverage: Must float between general X-ray, fluoro, and OR areas
• EMR system: Community Works
• PACS system: Intellirad/Intelliconnect
• Equipment brands: GE AMX portables with DR-Konica, Del Medical, Siemens, Philips diagnostic rooms
• Supervision: Imaging Director and Manager available weekdays; lead tech on afternoon shifts
• Radiologist coverage: In-house until 5 PM, on-call after; teleradiology covers overnight hours

Required Qualifications

• Licenses/Certifications:

  • WV X-ray License
  • ARRT Certification
  • BLS Certification
• WV CARES clearance required prior to start
• Must disclose any licensing issues at time of submission
• Must include a copy of an unexpired driver’s license with application
• Experience:

  • OR and fluoroscopy experience required
  • Must be able to function independently in all areas: general X-ray, portables, OR, and fluoro
  • First-time travelers accepted (no prior travel experience required)

Orientation & Training

• Department orientation: 5 shifts with a preceptor
• Orientation shifts: Steady afternoon and midnight shifts
• Work schedule during orientation: 4 ten-hour days, every other weekend

• Scrub code: Any clean, professional color allowed; permanent staff wear emerald green (matching not required)
• No IV starts required
• No call or standby responsibilities
