Description

Cath Lab Tech - Travel/Contract

Location: Flagstaff, Arizona
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Position Details

  • Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
  • Shift: Day shift, 4x10-hour shifts (7:00 AM - 5:30 PM)
  • Hours per week: 40 hours
  • Weekend work: As needed
  • On-call requirement: Yes, 18 days of call in 8 weeks
  • Floating: May float to outpatient cath lab for procedures
  • Blocked scheduling: Considered by unit manager
  • Locals accepted
  • Guaranteed hours with allowance for up to 6 call-offs during the assignment

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Cath Lab Technologist
  • Experience as a Cath Lab Technologist within the last year
  • Certifications:
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
    • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification

Preferred Skills

  • Experience or knowledge in:
    • Electrophysiology (EP)
    • Structural Heart procedures
    • MacLab, Xper, Cerner systems

Facility & Work Environment

  • Type: Short Term Acute Care, Teaching hospital, Level I Trauma center
  • Total staffed beds: 268
  • Scrubs provided in Cath Lab
  • Charting system: Cerner
  • Free employee parking
  • Adherence to quality and patient safety standards, including medication administration (BCMA)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

  • Background checks within 30 days of start, including:
    • 7-year background search
    • SSN trace, criminal, sex offender searches
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
  • Education verification required (diploma or transcripts accepted if verification pending)
  • Fingerprinting required for Radiology specialties (including Cath Lab Tech) within 30 days of employment
  • Employment application with 3 years of work history and documented gaps over 30 days
  • Two professional references required (one from most recent employer within 1 year)
  • Radiation badge request form must be completed prior to start
  • Photo for badge required (clear headshot preferred)
  • Security question form and travel information verification must be completed before start
  • Facility-specific job description form must be completed prior to start
  • Professional attire and appearance policy must be reviewed and signed

Health & Safety Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year confirming ability to perform essential job functions
  • Fit mask test (N95) within 1 year and updated annually; onsite fit testing available if needed
  • Immunizations and titers required or declination forms accepted for:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (preferred within last 10 years)
    • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (proof of immunity or 2 vaccines)
    • Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
    • Varicella (proof of immunity or 2 vaccines)
  • Negative TB test (PPD, Q Gold, or Tspot) within 1 year, updated annually; chest x-ray and TB questionnaire required for past positives
  • Drug testing: 10-panel urine drug screen within 30 days of start, updated annually
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or facility-specific declination form required for 2025-2026 season; mask required if declined
  • COVID vaccination series or declination form required

Competency Requirements

  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam within 1 year of start, minimum 80% score
  • Color blind testing required for all candidates starting 1/19/26, 100% passing score via online platform
  • Core competency exams (Parts I, II, III) updated annually, except for Medical Technologists and non-clinical placements
  • Fall prevention competency exam required for RNs starting 9/8/25 (not applicable to this role)

Additional Notes

  • First-time travel Cath Lab Techs are accepted
  • Return-to-Office (RTO) restrictions require unit manager approval
  • Facility may call off up to 6 shifts during the 13-week assignment
  • Candidates must comply with all facility policies and complete required documentation prior to start date
