Description
Radiation Therapist Travel/Contract Position
Location: McComb, Mississippi
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: Day shift, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (5 days/week, 8 hours/day, 40 hours/week)
- Patient Load: Approximately 25 patients per day
- Start Date: ASAP
- Weekend Requirement: No weekends required
- On-call: Not required
- Time Off Restrictions: Prefer no time off during contract
Required Qualifications
- Valid Radiation Therapist license in Mississippi
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Radiation Therapist, with experience within the last year
- Valid ARRT certification in Therapy
Certifications & Competencies
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (ARC, AHA, or US Department of Defense)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) as required
- Other certifications (PALS, NRP, TNCC) as required
- Competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency as applicable
Background & Compliance Requirements
- 7-year criminal background check within one year of start, updated annually
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
- Education verification upon client request
- Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within one year of start (instant drug screen acceptable)
- Physical exam within last 12 months (physician statement required)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
- Immunizations/vaccinations required or documentation:
- Measles (Rubeola) – 2 vaccines or positive titer (exempt if born before 1957)
- Mumps – 2 vaccines or positive titer (exempt if born before 1957)
- Rubella – 2 vaccines or positive titer (exempt if born before 1957)
- Hepatitis B – titer, vaccine series, or declination
- Varicella – 2 vaccines, titer, or history of chickenpox
- Seasonal flu vaccine or declination (collected upon client request)
- COVID-19 booster vaccine required; medical or religious exemptions accepted
Documentation & History
- Two professional references within 2 years required for travel positions
- Complete employment application/resume required
- Skills checklist updated annually as applicable
- Performance evaluations required if previously worked over 1 year with the agency
- Radiation badge issued by facility (information only)
