Description

Job Opportunity: RRT-NICU (Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics)

Location: Richland, Washington
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Hours per Week: 36


Job Description

  • Position requires working variable shifts; all staff on the unit work variable shifts, but efforts are made to keep schedules consistent during the contract.
  • Floating between internal departments/units is required; flexibility is essential.
  • No on-call required.
  • Weekend work required every other weekend per collective bargaining agreement.
  • Patient ratios depend on campus acuity.
  • 48-hour shifts are not approved.

Required Qualifications

  • Certified Respiratory Therapist with NICU experience within the last year.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in Certified Respiratory Therapy - NICU.
  • General Respiratory Therapist experience.

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

  • Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).
  • Social Security Card (as applicable for I9 verification).
  • Background check within 90 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years; must be updated annually.
  • Education verification required for all candidates.
  • Employment application covering at least the last 5 years.
  • Minimum of 2 professional references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting.
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, confirming ability to work with or without accommodation.
  • Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start.
  • Immunizations and health documents:
    • TDAP vaccine within 10 years (declination accepted)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (annual updates required)
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
    • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
    • Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season (declination accepted)
    • COVID vaccination documentation preferred; declinations accepted
  • Respirator clearance (RespSafety) required annually for travel candidates.
  • Fit mask testing required annually (travel only).
  • WA State Patrol background search required within 90 days of start.
  • WA Multi-State Licensed Nurses Demographic Attestation required for RNs/LPNs with out-of-state compact licenses.

Training and Competency

  • Annual completion of regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via assigned LMS.
  • Medication and pharmacology competency exams as applicable.
  • Skills checklist updated annually.
  • Epic system training modules required for applicable hospital systems.

Additional Notes

  • Floating policy acknowledgment required; may be asked to float to other facilities within reasonable distance.
  • Badge photo required (passport style with neutral background).
  • No on-call duties.
  • Weekend work every other weekend.
  • No block schedules.
  • Position does not approve 48-hour shifts.
