Description

Job Opportunity: Ultrasound Tech - General

Location: Aurora, Colorado
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night (Sunday to Tuesday, 6:00 PM – 6:30 AM)
Hours per Week: 36 (3 shifts per week)
Weekend Requirement: No
On-Call: No
Floating: No floating required within scope (may change based on unit needs)


Job Description

  • Work schedule: Sunday through Tuesday nights, 12-hour shifts (6:00 PM to 6:30 AM)
  • Maximum of 10 Return to Office (RTO) days allowed, with no RTO during these blackout periods in 2026:
    • June 28 – July 9
    • September 2 – September 12
    • October 25 – November 4
  • No week-long RTO allowed; must be able to work 3 shifts per week
  • Scrub color: Grey

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist
  • Ultrasound Technologist experience within the last year
  • Experience working with Maternal-Fetal patients
  • OB Technician experience
  • ARDMS certification
  • BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Must hold appropriate state licensure for Ultrasound Tech in Colorado

Required Documentation & Compliance

  • Valid Driver’s License/State ID (clear copies front and back)
  • E-Verify or Attestation
  • Proof of legal name change if applicable (certifications/licensure must match current legal name)
  • Background Checks (within 60 days of start):
    • 7-year background check including SSN trace, Colorado state checks, education verification, sex offender search, OFAC sanctions list, and others as specified
  • Education Verification or acceptable transcript/diploma
  • State License verification within 60 days of start
  • Employment application and work history verification covering last 3 years (gaps >30 days must be explained)
  • References: 2 references from last 2 years, including one from employment within the last year, from charge RN, manager, supervisor, or above
  • Colorado CAPS check results within 60 days of start

Health & Safety Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, DO, NP, or PA (not Chiropractor)
  • Fit mask test within 12 months of start and updated annually (specific approved masks required)
  • Immunizations and titers:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or signed declination)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, with annual TB questionnaire if positive
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity via positive titer or 2 vaccines, with boosters if titers are negative/equivocal
    • Hepatitis B immunity via positive titer, vaccine series, or declination
    • Varicella immunity via positive titer or 2 vaccines, with boosters if titer negative/equivocal
  • COVID-19 vaccination proof or signed declination (acceptable vaccines: AstraZeneca, Pfizer, Moderna)
  • Drug testing within 30 days of start and updated annually (specific panel required)
  • Color Blindness: Ishihara exam required prior to start (online testing not accepted)

Competency Requirements (must be current within 1 year)

  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam
  • General Competency Exam (minimum 80% score)
  • Core Parts I, II, and III (minimum 80% score)
  • OSHA Mandatory Training (minimum 80% score)

Additional Notes

  • Candidate must confirm renewal plans for any certifications or licensure expiring within 90 days of start to avoid clearance issues
  • Facility-specific new employee orientation modules must be completed within the first two weeks of assignment
  • No weekend shifts required
  • No on-call duties required

This position is ideal for Ultrasound Technologists with OB and Abdominal Doppler experience seeking a night shift travel contract in Colorado. First-time travelers are welcome if all qualifications are met.
