Registered Nurse Travel Position
Location: Santa Fe, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
The Registered Nurse coordinates and implements patient care tailored to the age and needs of the patient population on assigned units. The role ensures quality, efficient, and safe care consistent with unit standards. The nurse demonstrates professionalism, respect, and effective clinical practice aligned with organizational goals.
Responsibilities
- Perform initial patient assessments and prioritize care based on age, symptoms, and psychosocial needs.
- Systematically re-assess patients to monitor progress and identify when interventions are needed.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized, measurable plans of care within established nursing standards.
- Make comprehensive nursing decisions and modify care plans based on patient outcomes.
- Participate in patient and family health education and discharge planning.
- Document timely interventions appropriate to patient needs.
- Perform various Point of Care testing procedures.
- Meet expectations of leadership competencies relevant to the role.
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse in the specialty.
- Newly hired nurses with 2 or fewer years of experience will start at Clinical Nurse I status; higher levels considered based on experience, certifications, or advanced education (BSN/MSN).
- Current knowledge and skills appropriate to the patient population served.
- Ability to communicate clearly and appropriately with patients of varying developmental ages.
- Sensitivity to patients’ rights in care delivery.
Licenses & Certifications
- Current New Mexico RN license or current Compact state license.
- Current BLS Certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Current ACLS Certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
Work Schedule & Requirements
- Multiple shifts available.
- Weekend shifts required.
- On-call duties required.
- Full-time position.
