- Day shift, 5x8 hour shifts (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM)
- Flexible scheduling options available: 2x12s & 2x8s or 4x10s
- No weekends or holidays required
- Call shifts available to pick up
Job Description
- Bi-campus coverage between two hospital campuses
- Must be flexible to work shifts between 7:30 AM and 8:00 PM
- Guaranteed hours
- First-time travelers not accepted
Required Qualifications
- Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in Connecticut
- Minimum 1 year of experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist within the last year
- Active ARRT Radiography (R) certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Licensure
- Must hold an active state license appropriate for Radiology Technologist prior to start
Orientation & Onboarding
- Orientation available every Monday; must start by July 20 at the latest
- Photo ID matching legal name required on first day
- Background checks including 7-year criminal history, sex offender, and federal exclusions required
- Education verification and foreign equivalency evaluation required if applicable
- Physical exam and fit mask test required within 12 months of start
- Drug screening (10-panel) required within 12 months of start
Facility & Work Environment
- Short Term Acute Care facility with Level I Trauma Center designation
- Charting system: Epic
- Scrubs provided (Misty Green OR scrubs)
- Parking fee applies
Compliance & Training Requirements
Candidates must complete and attest to the following trainings and modules (some may be completed during orientation or prior to start):
- Color Blind Testing (required for all candidates starting 8/2/2024 or later)
- Medication/Pharmacology Competency Exam (minimum 85% score)
- Various facility-specific education modules including but not limited to:
- Stroke Education (for RNs)
- CLABSI Prevention Training
- Preventing Pressure Injury Training
- Patient Transportation with Oxygen Education
- Pyxis ES MedStation Training (for RNs)
- Baxter Pump Interoperability Training (for RNs)
- Patient Bedside Rounding (for RNs and CNAs)
- Ventricular Assist Device Awareness (for RNs)
- Blood Administration Module (for RNs, except Case Managers and Behavioral Health)
- New Employee Orientation Module
- 21st Century Cures Act Module (for applicable clinical roles)
- Fire Safety Module (effective 5/4/2026)
- Chaperone Policy Training (effective 5/31/2024)
- Additional training may be required based on unit assignment
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray documentation required
- Annual TB questionnaire required
- Immunizations or proof of immunity required for:
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (MMR) – positive titer or 2 vaccines
- Varicella – positive titer, 2 vaccines, or physician-documented history
- Hepatitis B – positive titer, vaccine series, or declination within 1 year
- Tdap vaccination preferred for certain specialties (not mandatory)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (9/1 – 3/31)
- COVID vaccination series preferred but not mandatory
Background & Employment History
- 7-year work history with no gaps greater than 90 days required
- Employment verification for last 7 years required
- One supervisor reference within the past year required for Cardio Thoracic ICU/CTICU assignments (charge nurse references not accepted)
- Skills checklist required within 12 months of start
Additional Requirements
- Attestation of prior radiation exposure required for this role and must be updated if there is a 30-day gap between assignments
- Must comply with Return to Office (RTO) restrictions; absences over 7 days require approval
This position is ideal for experienced Interventional Radiology Technologists seeking a travel contract with no weekend or holiday shifts, working in a high-acuity, Level I Trauma Center environment with bi-campus coverage.
