ICU Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Mountain Home, Arkansas
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Overview

• 17-bed ICU/CSICU caring for a wide range of patients from neonates to geriatrics
• Specialized in cardiovascular care including coronary artery bypass grafting, thoracotomy, carotid stenting, heart valve procedures, and vascular interventions
• Advanced therapies and equipment used: intra-aortic balloon pumps (IABP), induced hypothermia, extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), Impella Heart Pump

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Arkansas
• Minimum 2 years of Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit (CTICU) experience, including experience within the last year
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Intensive Care Unit (ICU) nursing experience

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and leadership within the nursing team
• Use the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to promote evidence-based care and a healing environment

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID and Social Security card
• Background checks including 7-year history, sex offender, state-specific criminal history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG verifications
• Education and work history verification (minimum 2 years)
• References: 2 required within 3 years (preferably within 2 years)
• Skills checklist and competency exams updated annually
• NURSYS license verification within 30 days of start
• Facility-specific documents including dress code review, pre-screening compliance checklist, TB questionnaire, and orientation materials

Health & Safety Requirements

• Physical exam (required within 1 year, must be completed within 72 hours of contract signing)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year; if positive TB history, additional follow-up required
• Immunizations or proof of immunity for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (series, positive titer, or declination)
  • Varicella
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
• Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (instant tests not accepted)
• Seasonal influenza vaccination or facility-specific declination during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31)
• COVID-19 vaccination documentation or exemption notification

Additional Information

• Position is safety sensitive under Arkansas Act 593 regarding medical marijuana
• Fit testing for masks will be completed onsite during orientation
• Orientation and compliance forms must be completed prior to start
