Description

Registered Nurse - Critical Care (ICU/CCU) - Nights

Location: Aberdeen, Washington
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

Provide direct, individualized nursing care to critically ill patients in an ICU/CCU setting. Responsibilities include patient assessment, medication administration, monitoring specialized equipment, patient education, and collaboration with the healthcare team to implement and evaluate care plans.


Shift & Hours

  • Night shift: 18:45 to 07:15
  • 36 hours per week

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Washington
  • Minimum of 1 year of Coronary Care Unit (CCU) experience, with recent experience within the last year
  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Experience in an Acute Care setting

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans in collaboration with healthcare team members
  • Administer and document prescribed medications via oral, subcutaneous, and IV routes; report adverse reactions
  • Provide bedside nursing care and respond to life-saving situations following nursing standards and protocols
  • Educate patients and families on post-treatment care, medication administration, diet, exercise, and rehabilitation
  • Record medical information, vital signs, and all care provided accurately and timely
  • Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic and lab tests; take samples as needed
  • Prepare equipment and assist physicians during examinations and treatments
  • Apply Hemodynamic, Phlebotomy, and IV protocols
  • Monitor and adjust specialized equipment such as cardiac monitors, ventilators, oxygen pumps, and interpret electronic displays (e.g., central venous pressure, pulmonary artery pressure, cardiac rhythms)
  • Monitor catheters, leads, and tubing for proper placement and function; initiate corrective actions as needed
