Registered Nurse - Cath Lab Holding

Location: Columbia, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Schedule: 4 days per week, 10-hour shifts (4x10s)
  • Shift options: 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM, 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM, 8:00 AM - 6:30 PM, 9:00 AM - 7:30 PM, or 10:00 AM - 8:30 PM
  • No set schedules and no weekends required
  • Role focuses on cath prep and recovery (not cath lab procedure rooms)

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in South Carolina
  • Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in Pre/Post Cath Lab nursing
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification (AHA or ARC, RQI acceptable)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (AHA or ARC, RQI acceptable)
  • Physical exam within 1 year attesting ability to meet physical demands of the position
  • Negative TB test (True 2-step PPD, QF Gold, or Tspot) within 90 days of start
  • Required immunizations or positive titers for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Varicella
    • Hepatitis B vaccination series, positive titer, or signed declination
  • Drug screening within 1 year of start, updated annually (5-panel minimum)
  • Background check covering 7 years, including alias and county/state searches, must be current within 12 months
  • E-Verify or attestation required
  • Fingerprinting required if applicable (e.g., if lived/worked in WV in past 7 years)
  • Education verification of highest level completed (diplomas not accepted as placeholders)
  • Medication and Arrhythmia competency testing (Pass/Fail Testing) required for RNs working in telemetry, critical care, PACU, cath lab, outpatient surgery, endoscopy, and ER units
  • Completion of online orientation modules within 72 hours of assignment (16 hours non-billable orientation onsite)
  • Annual Core Competency training (Parts I, II, III) including OSHA, TJC National Patient Safety Goals, and age-specific care
  • HIPAA and OSHA/TJC training acknowledgment (Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement)
  • Compliance with facility-specific policies including Floating Policy and Contractor Acknowledgment (signed annually)
  • Badge photo meeting facility requirements

Preferred / As Applicable Certifications

  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) Advanced
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) and ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) for ER candidates (may be required after 1 year of employment)
  • EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) for applicable units
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) or MAB (Management of Assaultive Behavior) if required by unit
  • NIH Stroke Certification if applicable
  • Lactation Certificate for Women’s Health RNs (L&D, Mother/Baby)

Additional Requirements

  • Candidates must carry a valid Driver’s License/State ID on duty
  • Photo ID for badge must be submitted prior to start
  • Respirator Fit Test (N95) completed onsite during orientation
  • Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption required by specified deadlines (not required for remote workers)
  • Candidates must have a resume/application with a 7-year work history
  • Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position
