Job Opportunity: Nuclear Medicine Tech

Location: Spartanburg, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Details

• Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
• Shift: Thursday and Friday 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM; Saturday and Sunday 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
• Hours per week: 40 hours
• Weekend shifts are required
• No on-call duties
• No floating to other units or sister facilities
• First-time travelers accepted
• Local candidates outside a 75-mile radius are not accepted
• Pending state license accepted but must be obtained prior to start
• Attendance policy: Missing more than two shifts without reasonable explanation during the 13-week contract may lead to contract review and possible cancellation

Required Qualifications

• Valid Nuclear Medicine Technologist license in South Carolina
• Minimum 1 year of Nuclear Medicine Technologist experience within the last year

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Government-issued photo ID (must be carried during hours of service)
• Social Security Card (if used for I9 verification)
• Proof of E-Verify or Attestation
• Background check: 7-year criminal history, education verification, sex offender registry, and other compliance checks updated annually
• Primary source verification of state license
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, updated annually
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 3 months of start, updated annually
• Immunizations or proof of immunity for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B (vaccination series, titer, or signed declination)
• Drug screening within 90 days of start (10-panel plus Oxycodone and Marijuana)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or declination during flu season (Nov 1 – Mar 31)
• COVID-19 vaccination (dose 1 and 2) or declination form
• Respiratory safety clearance within 1 year if respirator use is required
• Facility-specific photo for badge (headshot on plain background)
• Facility-specific orientation and safety manual acknowledgement
• Pass/fail testing on EKG and medication calculations may be required for RN roles (not applicable here)

Additional Requirements

• Two professional references within 3 years of start
• Employment application required
• Skills checklist updated annually (if applicable)
• South Carolina SLED criminal records search required for all candidates regardless of residency

Notes

• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted with initial application; late requests will not be considered
• Facility enforces strict attendance and compliance policies for travelers
• Candidates must adhere to all facility-specific onboarding and compliance procedures

This position offers a structured weekend schedule with no on-call or floating requirements, suitable for Nuclear Medicine Technologists with at least one year of experience and appropriate licensure.
