Job Opportunity: MRI Tech
Location: Newark, New York
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Work Schedule
- Shift: Monday to Friday, 12:30 PM – 8:30 PM (5 days a week, 8 hours per day)
- No call, no weekends, no holidays
Required Qualifications
- Valid MRI Technologist license in New York
- Minimum of 1 year of MRI Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
- ARRT-R (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - Radiography) certification
- MRI Certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- Experience in leadership roles
Health and Compliance Requirements
Candidates must complete the following health-related requirements and lab work within 5 days of signing the contract:
- Physical exam (within 1 year, updated annually)
- Fit mask test (annual)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (within 1 year) or TB questionnaire
- Immunizations or positive titers for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (surface antibody positive, completed series, or declination)
- Varicella
- Drug screening (within 30 days of start)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination during flu season
- Snellen eye exam (within 1 year)
- COVID vaccination copy preferred but not required
Background and Verification Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID required
- 7-year criminal background check (felony checks) within 3 months of start
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 3 months of start, updated monthly
- Education verification from primary source (required for international education: CGFNS, WES, or equivalent)
- Employment application and work history verification (at least 2 past employments verified)
- References (2 within 3 years) required for certain candidates
- State-specific checks including sex offender registry and Medicaid exclusion list within 30 days of start and monthly thereafter
Additional Compliance and Documentation
- Primary source verification of state license within 30 days of start
- Competency exams and medication/pharmacology tests as required by specialty
- Color blindness testing (one-time)
- Orientation safety manual acknowledgement
- Facility-specific documents including photo for badge and pre-employment compliance attestations
