Dietitian Travel/Contract Position

Location: Decatur, Illinois
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: Day shift, Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM (5x8 hours)
• Weekend Requirement: Yes, participates in weekend rotation approximately 1 weekend every 4 weeks
• Average Daily Census: 165 patients
• Facility Type: Acute Care Hospital, Level II Trauma Center
• Total Staffed Beds: 372
• Charting System: Cerner
• Parking: Permit required, no cost

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) license in Illinois
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN)
• Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Experience with Enteral Nutrition (tube feedings)
• Experience with Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN)
• Experience with Protein Calorie Malnutrition

Schedule & Work Conditions

• No on-call duties
• No floating outside scope of practice
• Schedule is Monday through Friday, with weekend rotation as noted
• Ideally no more than 5 days of Return to Office (RTO) restrictions

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Background checks covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years, updated annually
• State-specific criminal and offender registry searches required within 30 days of start
• Primary source verification of state license and certifications
• Competency exam required for clinical candidates
• Physical exam within one year of start, confirming good physical and mental health, communicable disease free, and ability to perform job functions without restrictions
• Fit mask test required (specific mask types accepted)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within one year of start
• Immunizations or documented immunity required for:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella
• 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually by November 30
• Badge photo required prior to start
• Review and sign Code of Conduct and Parking Permit forms within 7 days of contract signing

• Skills checklist required for clinical candidates

Additional Notes

• Guaranteed hours with some allowance for client call-offs during the assignment
• No facility floating or block scheduling accommodations beyond stated schedule
• Fingerprinting must be completed in Illinois for clinical candidates without an IL state license, 3 business days prior to start

This position is suitable for dietitians with at least one year of experience, who hold the appropriate credentials and Illinois licensure, and who are comfortable with a primarily day shift schedule including occasional weekends. Experience with specialized nutrition support and outpatient settings is preferred.
