Description
Mammography Tech - Travel/Contract
Location: Mooresville, North Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (40 hours/week)

Job Description
- Perform mammography procedures including:
- 3-D Mammography
- Diagnostic Mammograms
- Digital Mammography
- Fine Needle Aspiration
- Needle Localizations
- Screening Mammograms
- Stereotactic Biopsy
- First-time travel techs are welcome.
- Local candidates within 75 miles are considered.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Mammography Tech.
- Certifications:
- ARRT Mammography (M) certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA only)
- Mammography-specific training and CEUs:
- 40 hours of mammography training
- 25 supervised mammograms
- 8 CEUs of initial training in 2D and 3D mammography
- 15 CEUs in the last 2 years (all mammography)
- Documentation of 200 mammograms performed in the last 12 months, broken down monthly on official letterhead
- Must have completed required competency exams and pass/fail testing as part of orientation.
Required Experience & Skills
- Procedure experience in all required mammography techniques listed above is a hard stop.
- Ability to complete unit-specific competency exams.
Licensure & Certifications Verification
- Must provide current ARRT Mammography certification verification.
- BLS certification must be current and from AHA.
- Pass/Fail testing on basic technician knowledge will be administered at orientation.
Background & Compliance Requirements
- Background check within 90 days of start, including:
- SSN trace, county, alias, nationwide, sex offender, international (if applicable)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 90 days
- Education verification from an accredited Radiologic Sciences program with an AAS or higher degree.
- Drug test: Negative 10-panel (including THC) within 30 days of start (no instant tests).
- Physical exam within 12 months of start.
- Fit mask (N95 or equivalent) within 12 months of start.
- Immunizations and titers required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (every 10 years, no exemptions)
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (vaccines or positive titers, no exemptions)
- Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
- Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer; boosters if low/equivocal)
- Seasonal flu vaccine (required annually during flu season, no exemptions)
- Polio vaccine or signed attestation
- Must set up a facility-specific guest account prior to clearance to access orientation and work systems.
Orientation & Onboarding
- Orientation occurs bi-weekly.
- Online modules must be completed prior to orientation start.
- Competency checklists (CBOs) must be completed within 3 weeks after start date.
- Pass/fail testing and unit-specific competency exams are part of orientation.
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) training may be required depending on unit.
References & Documentation
- Two professional references required from employment within the last 12 months; at least one must be a supervisor.
- Employment application with 7 years of work history required.
- Skills checklist must be updated annually.
Additional Notes
- Local candidates within 75 miles are eligible for a local rate adjustment.
- Scrubs color is wine.
- First-time travel Mammography Techs are accepted.
- Candidate must maintain all required documentation and certifications current throughout the contract.
