Description
Job Opportunity: X-Ray Tech
Location: Belleville, Illinois
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
- Shift: 8-hour shifts with start times varying between 8:00 AM and 10:30 AM
- Hours per week: 40 (Day shift, 5 days a week)
- Daily caseload: Approximately 220 exams
- Weekend and holiday rotation required
- No on-call or floating to sister facilities
- Local candidates within a 75-mile radius only
- Guaranteed hours: 40 per week
Required Qualifications
- Valid Radiology Technologist license in Illinois
- Minimum 2 years of Radiology Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification required
- Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) certification required
- Experience as an X-Ray Technician
Certifications & Competencies
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications (AHA standards)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification as applicable
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification if applicable
- Other unit-specific certifications may be required based on assignment
- Competency exams and color blind testing required and must be updated annually
Compliance & Background Requirements
- Government-issued ID required
- Criminal background check within 6 months, including statewide, nationwide, sex offender, and international searches if applicable
- Fingerprinting required for assignments at or floating to long-term care or rehab units in Illinois
- Education verification of highest related degree required before start
- State-specific exclusion and sanction list checks for Illinois and Missouri placements
- Drug testing within 1 year of start, including a comprehensive panel, must be current throughout assignment
- Physical exam within 1 year of start required
- Fit testing for N95 masks required and must be renewed annually
- Required vaccinations and immunizations including Tdap, TB screening, measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, and seasonal flu vaccine or approved exemption
- Annual HIPAA acknowledgement, latex allergy questionnaire, confidentiality form, hand hygiene, fingernail, and dress code policy reviews required
- Annual regulatory compliance education and orientation modules completion required
Additional Requirements
- Must participate in weekend and holiday rotations with 7-day return-to-office restrictions on rotating weeks
- Scrubs provided (royal blue color)
- Free parking available
- Must provide a badge photo (head and shoulders, white background, no obstructions, taken within 6 months of start)
- Employment application and professional references required (two professional references preferred, supervisors within last year preferred)
- Unit-specific skills checklist required within 1 year of start
