Job Opportunity: Occupational Therapist - Pediatrics (Travel/Contract)

Job Details

  • Contract Length: 13 weeks
  • Shift: Day shift, 4 days per week, 10-hour shifts (9:00 AM to 7:30 PM)
  • Weekend Requirement: Facility closed on Saturdays and Sundays
  • Work Setting: Outpatient clinic serving infants, pediatrics, and adolescents with conditions such as Autism, Sensory Processing Disorders, Cerebral Palsy, Genetic conditions, Developmental Delays, Orthopedic Injury, and Functional Neurological Disorder
  • Charting System: EPIC
  • Locals accepted
  • Block scheduling not allowed
  • Time off requests must be submitted with application and approved before offer

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Valid Pediatric Occupational Therapist license in New Jersey
  • Minimum 2 years of pediatric occupational therapy experience, including experience within the last year
  • Experience working with pediatric patients
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) certification

Required Documentation and Compliance

  • Government-issued photo ID and driver's license (must be provided within 48 hours of signing)
  • Employment eligibility verification (E-Verify)
  • Criminal background check within 30 days of start, including alias and multi-level searches
  • Drug screen within 30 days of start (10-panel urine test)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 3 months of start
  • Physical exam within the past 12 months confirming ability to perform essential job functions and free of communicable disease
  • Respiratory medical clearance and on-site fit testing (mandatory before start)
  • Influenza vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (annual requirement)
  • Immunization proof or positive titer for Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B, and Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap
  • Color vision exam if job tasks require color discrimination
  • Completion of required competency exams and pass/fail testing (medication/pharmacology, EKG/dysrhythmia, IV therapy)
  • Annual education sign-off and safety manual acknowledgement (OSHA, HIPAA, Joint Commission)
  • References: Two references within last 2 years, including at least one managerial reference
  • Employment application or resume with 7 years of work history and verification of at least 1 year prior work history (New Jersey state requirement)
  • Skills checklist updated annually

Additional Training and Certifications (if applicable)

  • Some roles may require additional certifications such as ACLS, PALS, NRP, or others depending on unit assignment (not required for this OT Pediatrics role)
  • Orientation and facility-specific training must be completed prior to start
