Registered Nurse - Telemetry (Travel/Contract)

Location: Mountain Home, Arkansas
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

• Provide direct patient care and leadership within the nursing team.
• Utilize the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to promote evidence-based care and a healing culture.
• Float to support ER hold, overflow units, adult and geriatric psychiatry, and inpatient rehab units.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Arkansas.
• Minimum 1 year of telemetry experience within the last year.
• Stepdown experience.
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).

Certifications (As Applicable)

• ACLS (AHA Instructor, Provider, or RQI accepted)
• PALS, NRP, TNCC, ENPC, NIH Stroke Certification, Chemotherapy, EFM (refer to job details for applicability)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
• Social Security Card
• E-Verify or Attestation
• Background Check: 7-year check within 6 months of start; annual updates required for direct candidates; includes aliases, SS trace, counties, state, national, education verification, and motor vehicle report (if applicable).
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start.
• Education verification.
• Sex offender and state-specific criminal history checks within 30 days of start.
• NURSYS license verification within 30 days of start.
• Competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency as applicable, updated annually.
• Facility-specific documents including dress code, pre-screening compliance checklist, TB questionnaire, and orientation forms.

Health & Safety Requirements

• Physical exam (required within 1 year; must be completed within 72 hours of contract signing).
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year; annual TB questionnaire required regardless of TB status.
• Immunizations or positive titers required for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (series, positive titer, or declination)
  • Varicella
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
• Drug testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start; must meet facility timing requirements.
• Seasonal flu vaccination or facility-specific declination required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31).
• COVID vaccination documentation or exemption notification required.
• Fit testing for masks will be completed onsite during orientation.

References & Work History

• Two professional references required within 3 years of start date.
• Resume or employment application required.
• Work history verification for the past 2 years required.
• Skills checklist updated annually.

Additional Notes

• This is a float position supporting multiple units including ER hold, overflow, psych, and rehab.
• Night shift with 36 hours per week (3 shifts of 12 hours).
• Safety sensitive position under state medical marijuana law.
