MRI Technologist (Temporary)

Job Summary

Perform magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) on patients using advanced equipment, including administering contrast materials as needed. Responsibilities include preparing the scan room and patient, screening for contraindications, positioning patients, performing scans with attention to detail, and preparing records for radiologist review.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare scan room and patient for MRI examination.
• Draw up and administer IV or oral contrast as indicated.
• Perform equipment warm-up and enter patient data and scan parameters.
• Interview and screen patients for contraindications; explain procedures and answer questions.
• Transport and position patients appropriately for scans; monitor for need of additional images.
• Ensure proper marking and orientation of images.
• Prepare and verify clinical information and exam images for radiologist.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of MRI technologist experience.
• Experience with Siemens MRI equipment.
• Associate Degree in a related field.
• Active MRI certification through ARRT or AMRIT.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility (local candidates not considered).
• Submission must include:

  • Work history.
  • Skills checklist relevant to MRI, current within 1 year.
  • Two supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years.

• Dress code: Matching scrubs of any color.
• Facility is a 139-bed hospital located in northeast Michigan on the shores of Lake Huron.
