Respiratory Therapist - Pediatrics/Neonatal (Peds/Neo Respiratory Therapist)

Location: Morgantown, West Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights
Hours: 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week
Weekend Requirement: 6 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
Holiday Requirement: Possible

Job Description

• Provide all aspects of respiratory care for pediatric and neonatal patients in NICU or PICU settings.
• Typical daily treatments: 20-25.
• Use of specialized equipment including Hamilton and Servo ventilators, Respironics & Hamilton BiPAP, Fisher Paykel High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC).
• Duties include airway management, intrahospital transport, and use of advanced respiratory therapies such as Aerogen, Volara, cough assist, IPV, NAVA.
• Assist with intubation (independent intubation not required).
• Night shift coverage includes floors, Emergency Department, and blood gas lab.
• Staffing model prefers 8 RTs per shift; RT will not be the only therapist on duty.
• Dress code: Stone/light gray scrubs.

Required Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) preferred; Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) acceptable.
• Must have current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program).
• Minimum 2 years of experience working in PICU and/or Level III or higher NICU.
• No prior travel experience explicitly required.

Additional Information

• Department-specific orientation provided; length depends on prior experience.
• No call or standby call requirements.
• No floating to other departments.
• Hospitalist or intensivist available in-house.
