Registered Nurse (RN) – Med/Surg – Day Shift

Location: St Johnsbury, Vermont
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, 7am – 7pm (Three 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week, includes every other weekend)

Job Description

• Provide nursing care primarily for adult patients with occasional pediatric patients on a general Med/Surg unit.
• Care settings include medical, surgical, outpatient, observation, swing bed, and pediatric care.
• Utilize the Nursing Process to make critical decisions and coordinate patient care.
• Collaborate with the Unit Director, Clinical Nurse Lead, and Nursing Supervisor.
• Focus on holistic care addressing patients’ age, physiological, spiritual, psychosocial, and developmental needs.
• This is not a pediatric floor; pediatric patients may be occasional but not the primary focus.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Vermont
• Minimum of 3 years Med Surg nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Acute care nursing experience
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• ACLS certification

Additional Information

• Travelers start on Wednesdays.
• Orientation week may have adjusted hours (36 hours guaranteed during a 48-hour contract week due to midweek start).
• 36 hours per week, including every other weekend.
• Must be able to start on 6/24/26.
