Echo Tech (Cardiac Sonographer) - Travel Position

Location

• Alexandria, Louisiana

Job Type

• Travel assignment
• Contract length: 13 weeks

Work Schedule

• Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• Rotating weekend every 5th week
• On-call one week every 5th week

Patient Population

• Primarily adult echocardiography patients
• Occasional pediatric telemedicine echocardiograms

Job Summary

• Perform non-invasive cardiovascular procedures including echocardiograms, cardiac Doppler, color flow mapping, stress echocardiograms, and transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE) under physician orders.
• Provide professional and expedient patient care, using AIDET communication techniques.
• Participate in 24/7 call rotation for echocardiography coverage.
• Maintain infection control procedures including cleaning and disinfecting equipment and TEE probes.
• Complete documentation, preliminary reports, and charge capture accurately.
• Communicate test results and pertinent patient information professionally with physicians.
• Assist with clerical duties such as answering phones, using office equipment, and retrieving reports.
• May fulfill Cardiovascular Tech role as needed.
• Participate in continuing education as required.

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience

• High School Diploma
• Minimum 2 years of experience as an Echo Technologist
• Echo Technologist experience within the last year

Certifications & Licenses

• Must hold one of the following certifications:

  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) from ARDMS
  • Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) from CCI
  • Registered Vascular Sonographer from ARDMS or CCI with at least 2 years of echo experience
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association

Additional Information

• Average workload: 6-8 echocardiograms per day
