Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Dallas, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Shift: Day shift, 4 days per week, 10 hours per day (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM)
- Call Requirement: Rotating call schedule with approximately 7-8 call shifts per month, including weekdays and weekends
- Weekend Requirement: Call team only (covering 5:30 PM – 7:00 AM Mon-Fri and 24 hours Sat-Sun)
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
- Minimum of 1 year of Interventional Radiology experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Valid government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License, State ID, or Passport) with matching name on all documentation
- E-Verify or Attestation completed
- Background checks within 30 days of start, including:
- 7-year county criminal background search for all locations lived/worked
- Sex offender search
- State police investigation for behavioral health (if applicable)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
- Education verification as applicable
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Fit mask test completed onsite during orientation; updated annually
- Negative TB test (TSpot or QGold) within 12 months; annual updates required
- Immunization requirements:
- Tdap (Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis) vaccine required
- Hepatitis B: Proof of vaccine series and positive titer OR signed facility-specific declination form
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR): Positive titers or documentation of 2 vaccines; boosters required if titers low/equivocal
- Varicella: Positive titers or documentation of 2 vaccines; boosters required if titers low/equivocal
- Seasonal Flu Vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31)
- Drug testing: 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (rapid screens not accepted)
- Photo for badge (passport style, head and shoulders, clear background)
- Completion of facility-specific forms including job description acknowledgment, internet access form, and security questionnaire
Competency & Testing Requirements
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam: Must pass with 80% or higher; two attempts allowed
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam: Required for Interventional Radiology; two attempts allowed; must be updated annually
- Pass/Fail Testing: Candidates allowed two attempts for medication and EKG competency exams; third attempt possible with client approval
- Candidates will receive study guides for required exams prior to testing
Additional Training Requirements
- For ER RNs only: 2 hours of Texas Forensic Evidence Collection training (not applicable for this IR position)
