Registered Nurse – ER (Travel/Contract)

Location: Salina, Kansas
Contract Length: 6 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Patient Ratio: 1:4
• Start Date: ASAP
• Unit Scrub Color: Navy Blue
• Radius Restriction: Must live within 100 miles (mileage reviewed upon submission)
• First Time Travelers: Not accepted (prior travel experience required)

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Kansas
• Minimum 1.5 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, including experience within the last year
• Completion of at least one travel assignment
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Certifications:

  • ACLS (issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association)
  • BLS (issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association)
  • PALS
  • TNCC
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Experience with MEDITECH electronic medical record system
• Clinical skills including:

  • Central line care and management
  • Continuous IV sedation
  • IV vasopressors
  • CPAP/BiPAP management
  • Care of ventilated patients

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID must be carried during hours of service
• Proof of E-Verify or attestation required
• Background checks:

  • 7-year criminal history check covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
  • FACIS Level III screening within 30 days of start
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
• Education verification or proof of highest degree earned
• Nursys verification required for all RNs
• Physical exam within last 12 months, signed by MD, DO, PA, or ARNP confirming ability to perform essential job functions
• N95 Fit Test within 12 months (can be completed onsite during orientation if needed)
• Drug screening:

  • 10-panel drug screen including marijuana within 60 days of start (SAMHSA certified, reviewed by MRO)
• Immunizations and Titers:

  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (or documentation if previously positive)
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer within 10 years or completed 2-dose MMR series (boosters required if non-immune)
  • Hepatitis B: Positive titer, completed 3-dose series, or declination form
  • Varicella: Positive titer or completed 2-dose vaccine series
  • Flu vaccine or declination required during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31); mask required if declined
  • COVID-19 vaccine or declination accepted
• References: Two professional references within 2 years required
• Completion of facility-specific Healthstream modules prior to start (approx. 8 hours)
• Photo for badge required

• Performance evaluations required if previously worked with the agency over 1 year (collected internally)
