Description
Speech Language Pathologist (Outpatient) - Travel/Contract
Location: Brownwood, Texas
Shift: Day shift, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (5 days/week, 8 hours/day)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Provide speech language pathology services in an outpatient setting.
- Experience required with patient populations ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics.
- Must be skilled in conducting modified barium swallow studies.
- Start date expected within 3-5 weeks from hire.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Speech Language Pathologist license in Texas.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Experience working with pediatric patients.
- Experience working with geriatric patients.
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID required.
- Background check: 7-year check within 1 year of start, including SSN trace, county, national, OFAC, sex offender, motor vehicle check (for home health only), and education verification.
- Education verification or transcript/diploma required.
- State-specific checks including Texas DADS Employability Status and Employee Misconduct Registry within 30 days of start.
- Drug testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen including THC within 10 business days prior to start; facility will conduct additional drug screen on arrival.
- Physical exam within 1 year of start; must be completed within 72 hours of contract signing.
- Fit mask test (3M 1860 Regular or 1860S) required and updated annually.
- Immunizations and titers required: TDAP (within 10 years), Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella; positive titers or vaccination series required, with boosters if non-immune.
- TB testing: Negative TB test or chest X-ray within required timeframes; annual TB questionnaire required.
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required for 2025-26 season.
- Various facility-specific acknowledgments and forms must be reviewed and signed prior to start (e.g., vaccination info, confidentiality, compliance, background check authorization, patient-centered pledge).
- Competency exams and medication/pharmacology tests as applicable.
- Orientation modules (~3-4 hours) required during onboarding.
Certifications (as applicable)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA accepted.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - AHA accepted.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - AHA accepted.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Chemotherapy, Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM), Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC), NIH Stroke Certification, and others may be required depending on facility needs.
