Cath Lab Registered Nurse - Travel/Contract
Location: Tampa, Florida
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: Day shift, 4 days per week, 10-hour shifts (6:30 AM - 5:00 PM)
- Patient Ratio: 1 nurse to 4 patients during day shift
- Facility Type: Short Term Acute Care, Level II Trauma, Level I Pediatric Trauma
- On-Call: Required, typically 10-12 days per month, every other weekend; must be within 30 minutes of the hospital when on call
- Weekend Requirement: Yes
- Floating: No floating outside scope of practice
- Block Schedule: Not accommodated
- Locals: Not accepted
- Guaranteed Hours: Apply after first call off per pay period
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Florida
- Minimum 1 year of Cardiac Cath Lab experience within the last year
- ACLS certification
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Experience with conscious sedation
- Telemetry skills and telemetry experience
Health & Safety Requirements
- Physical Exam: Within 6 months of start date
- TB Testing: Negative PPD, Qgold, or T-spot within 10 weeks of start; chest X-ray and TB questionnaire if prior positive PPD
- TB Questionnaire: Annual completion required in lieu of annual TB test
- Immunizations:
- COVID-19 vaccination required (medical or religious exemptions accepted)
- Flu vaccination or declination required annually (mask required if declined)
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Titer or 2 vaccines, booster if low/equivocal titers
- Varicella: Titer or 2 vaccines, booster if low/equivocal titers
- Hepatitis B: Titer, series, or declination
- Drug Testing: Standard 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (instant tests not accepted)
- Respirator Clearance: Required annually if respirator use is necessary
Facility-Specific Requirements
- Photo for Badge: Clear, professional photo with solid background required prior to start
- Dress Code & Tobacco Policy: Must be acknowledged and followed
- Account Registration & Training Modules:
- Must register and complete required online training modules prior to start (4-8 hours)
- Deadline to complete modules is the Thursday prior to start date
- Modules best accessed via Microsoft Edge or Safari on desktop/laptop (not mobile devices)
- Hurricane Exemption Survey: Required if assignment falls between June 1 and November 30
- Fit Mask Acknowledgement: Required
Additional Notes
- COVID-19 vaccination exemptions accepted for medical or religious reasons without further approval
- Candidates must be able to respond to on-call within 30 minutes
- No acceptance of pending licenses
- Must maintain all certifications and licenses current throughout assignment
- Candidates will be removed if certifications or background checks lapse during assignment
