Job Opportunity: X-Ray Tech
Location: Jersey City, New Jersey
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: Day shift, 4 days per week, 10 hours per day (8:00 AM – 6:30 PM)
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call duties
- Approximately 20 cases per day
- Procedures include all routine radiology procedures
- Technologist must be fluent in OR/Fluoro and General X-ray
- Charting system used: EPIC
- Scrub color: black
- First-time travelers accepted
Required Qualifications
- Valid Radiology Technologist license in New Jersey
- Minimum 1 year of Radiology Technologist experience within the last year
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- ARRT (R) certification
- Experience as an X-Ray Technician
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID) required within 48 hours of signing
- Criminal background check within 30 days of start, including alias and multi-level searches
- Drug screen (10-panel urine) within 30 days of start
- Physical exam within the previous 12 months, cleared to perform essential job functions and free of communicable disease
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray per facility guidelines
- Annual influenza vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required
- Fit test and Respiratory Medical Clearance required prior to start (on-site fit testing mandatory)
- Color blindness exam if job tasks require color discrimination
- Completion of facility-specific education and attestations prior to start
- Employment application or resume with 7 years of work history
- Two references within the last 2 years, including at least one managerial reference
- Work history verification for New Jersey candidates with minimum 1 year prior to start date
Certifications & Competencies
- BLS certification (AHA, RQI, or instructor cards accepted; COCs accepted as placeholders)
- ARRT (R) certification
- Completion of medication/pharmacology competency exam within 72 hours of signing
- Completion of competency exams (including EKG/Dysrhythmia if applicable) within 72 hours of signing
- Annual OSHA, HIPAA, and Joint Commission training required
- Additional certifications as applicable to specialty or unit (e.g., ACLS, PALS, NRP) are not required for this role
Additional Notes
- Candidates must comply with all facility-specific policies including floating policy and annual education sign-offs
- Candidates with name changes must provide proof of name change and include all names in background checks
- Candidates must bring all required documentation to orientation
- On-site fit testing requires clean-shaven face unless approved accommodation is provided
- Candidates must complete all required pass/fail testing and remediation if necessary; failure after 3 attempts results in cancellation
