Description

Registered Nurse – Progressive Care Unit (PCU)

Location: Columbus, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Schedule & Shift

  • Night shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
  • Weekdays with occasional weekends and rotating holidays
  • Must be willing to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide patient care in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
  • Maintain a nurse-to-patient ratio of approximately 1:5
  • Perform IV starts and telemetry monitoring
  • Document care using the Epic electronic health record system

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU), with experience within the last year
  • BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous travel nursing experience preferred

Additional Requirements & Policies

  • Must review and sign dress code and hand hygiene policy
  • Must complete Confidential Fraud Waste Abuse and Compliance Reporting training and form
  • Must complete Fraud, Waste, and Abuse training certificate prior to start and annually thereafter
  • NIH Stroke Certification may be required depending on unit assignment (verify with recruiter)
  • Background checks including EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG monitored monthly
  • Orientation Safety Manual acknowledgment required annually

Notes

  • Facility may allow pending background check results if FBI/BCI fingerprints are on file, with written approval
  • Fingerprinting results can take 1-2 weeks; delays possible if background hits occur
  • Candidates with a break in service of 90+ days must renew fingerprinting if older than 1 year
  • Candidates must be willing to float to units of equivalent or lower acuity
