Description
MRI Tech Travel/Contract Position
Location: Cincinnati, Ohio
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
- Shift: Monday to Friday, 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM
- Saturday rotation every 3rd week (8-hour day shift, either 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM or 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
- Hours per week: 40 hours
Required Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in an MRI hospital setting
- Pediatric experience preferred
Required Qualifications
- MRI Technologist with at least 5 years of experience
- MRI Technologist experience within the last year
- Valid MRI Technologist license or certification as applicable
- Government-issued photo ID (must be carried during hours of service)
- Social Security Card or number required
- Background checks including:
- 7-year criminal history check (all locations lived/worked in past 7 years)
- Sex offender registry
- FACIS Level 3
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
- Education verification (transcript/diploma) required
- Fingerprinting completed onsite first day
- ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications as required or preferred for pediatric settings
- National certification relevant to MRI Tech (e.g., CPSPD, CRCST, NBRC, CCI, ARDMS, NBSTSA, NCCT) as applicable
- Annual competency exams and unit-specific competency testing required
- Health screening form completed within 60 days prior to start
- Physical exam attesting ability to meet physical demands, updated annually
- Immunizations and health documents required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (titer or 2 vaccines)
- Hepatitis B series or positive titer (declination NOT accepted)
- Varicella (titer, 2 vaccines, or history of chickenpox)
- Drug testing: 9 or 10 panel drug screen within last 12 months or 30 days as specified
- Seasonal flu vaccination required during flu season (declinations not accepted)
- COVID-19 vaccination NOT required for this position
- Proof of 2 professional clinical references required
- Employment application must include 3 years prior work history with at least 2 years in acute care and similar clinical area
- Skills checklist and evaluations required as applicable and updated annually
Additional Notes
- Facility is latex-free; candidates with latex allergy do not require special approval
- Surgical masks provided and mandatory for patient-facing roles
- Candidates must pass pediatric medication test with 100% score (for RN roles; note this is informational and may not apply directly to MRI Tech)
- Background check exceptions: no more than 2 DUIs within 3 years allowed
- Fingerprinting and background check results may impact employment eligibility
This position is ideal for experienced MRI Technologists with pediatric experience who are comfortable with rotating weekend shifts and meeting comprehensive credentialing and health requirements.
