Cath Lab Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Job - Valdosta, Georgia
Position Overview
- Role: Cath Lab Registered Nurse (RN)
- Experience Required: Minimum 2 years in specialty
- Open to first-time travel nurses
- Patient Age Group: Adults and Geriatrics
- Shift: Day shift, 4 days per week, 10-hour shifts (40 hours/week)
- Call required and weekend coverage expected
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:1
Clinical Responsibilities
- Familiarity with temporary pacemakers, intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP), coronary sinus interventions (CSI), fractional flow reserve/invasive flow reserve (FFR/IFR), and intravascular ultrasound (IVUS)
- Ability to titrate critical drips and manage intubated patients
- Medication system used: Omnicell
- Documentation system: EPIC
Required Certifications
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or American Red Cross
- Pass/Fail Testing at orientation including Medication Exam and EKG Exam (study guides provided)
- Acknowledgement of Pass/Fail Testing required for all RNs
Contract Details
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- Shift pattern: 4 days per week, 10-hour shifts (day shift)
- Guaranteed hours: 40 hours per week
- Crisis staffing may require 3 or 4 twelve-hour shifts
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia
- Minimum 2 years of Cardiac Cath Lab experience, including experience within the last year
- ACLS certification
- BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Onboarding and Compliance Requirements
- Background check within 30 days of start (includes SSN trace, 7-year county residence, nationwide search, sex offender search)
- Copy of official transcript or diploma
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, renewed yearly
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (or documentation if previously positive)
- Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (including Marijuana/THC)
- Immunizations/vaccinations required or documented immunity:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or 2 vaccines)
- Hepatitis B (positive titer, completed series, or signed declination)
- Varicella (positive titer or 2 vaccines)
- Seasonal Flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season
- COVID-19 vaccination requirement or approved medical/religious exemption (facility-specific forms required)
- Photo for badge: passport style with white background (no selfies)
- Facility-specific documents including job description, handbook, dress code acknowledgment, confidentiality agreement, drug and alcohol policy, first day info, scrub info, and Net Learning modules must be completed prior to start
- EPIC testing on day 1 of orientation
Additional Notes
- Scrubs are provided for OR and CVOR; other units have specific scrub colors
- Must comply with facility’s 8, 10, or 12-hour shift call-off rules
- Two professional references required
- Employment application required
- Mask fit testing completed at orientation
- Fingerprinting not required for RNs in Georgia (only for CNAs and Recreational Therapists)
- Competency exams and study guides provided; failure to pass after two attempts may result in cancellation
