Description
Registered Nurse (MS/Tele) - Travel/Contract
Location: Bristol, Tennessee
Specialty: Registered Nurse (Medical/Surgical and Telemetry)
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 18:30–7:00)
Schedule: 36 hours per week (36/36 rotation), every other weekend, no call
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Patient ratio: 1:7
- Floating to other units required
- Active participation in nursing student support and clinical education alongside clinical care
- Hospital may cancel or call off one shift biweekly without penalty due to census changes
- Additional overtime shifts available as needed
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse license in Tennessee
- Minimum 2 years of Medical/Surgical and Telemetry nursing experience, with experience within the last year
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Orientation & Onboarding
- General orientation begins on Sundays with online computer-based learning (CBLs)
- 16 hours of non-billable orientation required
- Time-sensitive completion of facility-specific documents and forms within 24-48 hours of contract signing
Compliance & Background Requirements
- Background check within 30 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
- Education verification required
- Tennessee Adult Abuse Registry check required for those licensed or working in Tennessee
Health & Safety Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start (not required annually)
- Standard 9-panel drug screen within 14 days of start
- Respirator fit testing completed onsite (must comply with CDC facial hair guidelines)
- Immunizations/vaccinations required or documentation of immunity/declination:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray as applicable
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) titers or vaccination documentation
- Hepatitis B series, titer, or declination
- Varicella titer or vaccination documentation
- Seasonal flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season (Sept 29 – Mar 31)
Documentation & Facility Policies
- Photo for badge must meet strict guidelines (neutral background, no filters, no bulky jewelry, etc.)
- Completion of facility-specific forms including dress code, smoking/tobacco use policy, contaminated sharps/body fluid exposure statement, influenza policy, and respirator medical evaluation questionnaire
- Flu vaccination exemption requires additional religious or medical documentation and facility approval
