Description

Registered Nurse (CCU) - Travel/Contract

Location: Gettysburg, Pennsylvania
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Overview

  • Float Pool position: will float to ICU, Medical-Surgical (MS)/Telemetry units, and Rehab as needed
  • Night shift schedule: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM), every other weekend (EOW)
  • Weekend and holiday shifts as needed
  • May care for COVID-19 patients
  • Tobacco and fragrance-free facility

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania
  • Minimum 2 years of Coronary Care Unit (CCU) experience, with at least some experience within the last year
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Onboarding and Compliance Requirements

Background Checks & Verifications

  • 7-year criminal background check required within 30 days of start, updated annually
  • Pennsylvania State Police PATCH search required, must be finalized prior to start (no pending results)
  • FBI fingerprinting (PA) required within 1 year of start; candidate may start with results pending but must have results on file within 45 days or will be removed from assignment
  • Employment application and 2 professional references within 3 years required
  • Education verification of highest degree/diploma/transcripts required
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start

Certifications & Competencies

  • Acknowledgement of Pass/Fail Testing required within 48 hours of contract signing
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required within 72 hours of contract signing (pass/fail exam with remediation process if needed)
  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
  • State license primary source verification and NURSYS verification required

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam within 90 days of start, signed by MD, DO, PA, or NP
  • Fit mask test required 3 business days prior to start for new or expiring fit tests
  • Negative TB test (QGold or TSpot) within 90 days of start; chest X-ray required if TB positive
  • Required vaccinations or positive titers for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B (positive titer or full vaccine series)
    • Varicella
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
    • Seasonal flu vaccine or valid medical/religious exemption during flu season
    • COVID-19 vaccine or valid exemption/declination
  • Respiratory safety clearance required within 1 year of start, renewed annually
  • Negative 9-panel drug test within 1 year of start (Aya requirement only)

Facility-Specific Documents & Training

  • Passport-style photo for badge required
  • Review and sign facility documents including:
    • Code of Conduct
    • Confidentiality Agreement
    • Commitment to Health & Wellness
    • Non-Employee Affidavit
    • Hepatitis B declination form (if applicable)
    • Safety and Security Vehicle Registration
    • WellSpan Way Description (review only)
  • Completion of Learning Management System (LMS) modules on PC/laptop prior to start (not available on mobile devices)
  • New hire orientation must be completed by end of first day

Additional Information

  • Return to Office (RTO) maximum 7 days
  • No call requirements
  • Manager interview required after clinical screening
  • Candidate clinical fit will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis

This position is ideal for experienced RNs comfortable with floating across critical care and medical-surgical units, working night shifts, and meeting comprehensive compliance and health requirements.
