Description

X-Ray Tech (Radiology / Cardiology) - Travel/Contract

Location: San Angelo, Texas
Shift: Evening, Monday - Thursday, 1:00 PM - 11:00 PM (4x10 hour shifts)
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Perform a variety of OR exams, including proficiency with O arm and Cios Spins equipment.
  • Conduct high-quality diagnostic radiographic examinations in a fast-paced Level III Trauma Center environment.
  • Provide imaging support for trauma activations, emergency department patients, inpatient units, and outpatient services.
  • Perform and document basic Fluoroscopy under radiologist guidance.
  • Accurately document procedures and patient information in electronic medical records and PACS systems.
  • Maintain equipment functionality and promptly report malfunctions.
  • Respond effectively to urgent and emergent imaging requests, including after-hours, weekends, holidays, and on-call assignments as required.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Radiology Technologist license in Texas.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Radiology Technologist, including experience within the last year.
  • Experience as an X-Ray Technician.

Required Documentation & Compliance

  • Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License/State ID) with legal name matching all documents (license, social security card, certifications).
  • Social Security Card.
  • Background Check: 7-year check required within 30 days of start, including statewide, federal, national, education verification, and international search if applicable.
  • E-Verify or Attestation.
  • Education Verification or diploma as placeholder if pending.
  • National and state license verifications within 30 days of start.
  • Photo for badge (passport-style with solid background).
  • Completion of facility-specific forms prior to start, including:
    • Non-Employee Information Form
    • Vaccine Exemption Form (if applicable)
    • Applicant Health Record Form
    • Code of Conduct and Compliance Form
    • Temporary License Declaration of Residency Form
    • Confidentiality Statement Form
    • Information System Security Agreement Form
    • Non-Employee Orientation Update Form
    • Traveler Orientation
    • Hepatitis B Declination (if no positive titer on file)

Health & Safety Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start; must be completed within 72 hours of contract signing.
  • Fit mask test within 6 months prior to start; annual updates required. Accepted masks: 3M 1860 and 3M 1860S.
  • Immunizations and titers required within 72 hours of contract signing:
    • TDAP (within 10 years)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (within 1 year; chest X-ray within 5 years if positive TB test)
    • Measles (Rubeola) - positive titer or 2 vaccines (boosters if negative/equivocal)
    • Mumps - positive titer or 2 vaccines (boosters if negative/equivocal)
    • Rubella - positive titer or 2 vaccines (boosters if negative/equivocal)
    • Hepatitis B - positive titer or series with signed declination if applicable
    • Varicella - positive titer, 2 vaccines, or proof of chickenpox disease (boosters if negative/equivocal)
  • Drug testing required within 30 days of start; must include standard panel (amphetamines, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, cannabinoid, cocaine, opiates, phencyclidine, methadone, propoxyphene).
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or facility-specific declination form required during flu season (Oct 31 - Mar 31).
  • Initial COVID vaccination series required; boosters not required.

Additional Requirements

  • Pass/fail testing during orientation including medication administration, restraint, and glucometer tests. Remediation offered same day if failed.
  • Medication/pharmacology competency exam as applicable.
  • Two professional references within 3 years of start.
  • Resume or employment application required.
  • Annual updates required for skills checklist and orientation safety manual acknowledgment.

Experience
