Registered Nurse (RN) – Post Acute Long-Term Care (Days)

Location: Lewiston, Maine
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)

Job Summary

• Provide direct and indirect nursing care in a therapeutic environment for residents in long-term care and rehabilitation units.
• Units include:

  • Specialized 31-bed unit for Alzheimer's/dementia residents, focusing on tailored care and communication techniques.
  • 42-bed Transitional Rehabilitation Unit offering short-term skilled nursing and rehab services (e.g., IV therapy, wound care, geriatric assessment).
  • 42-bed long-term care unit providing home-like environment care for residents needing long-term placement.
• Flexibility to float between units as needed.
• Coverage required 24/7 with strong teamwork and communication skills essential.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in the State of Maine
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Minimum of 1 year of Long Term Care nursing experience within the last year

Additional Information

• Up to 16 hours of orientation is unpaid.
• The employer reserves the right to cancel up to 3 shifts during the 13-week contract.
• Previous employees and candidates with licensure conflicts will not be considered.
• Local travelers receive a lower local rate (not detailed here).
