Registered Nurse (Medical/Surgical/Telemetry) - Mason City, Iowa

Job Type

• Long-Term Assignment (approximately 13 weeks)

Work Schedule

• Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
• Every third weekend
• Every other holiday

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Iowa
• Minimum of 1 year of Medical/Surgical/Telemetry nursing experience within the last year
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• ACLS certification
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Current physical/health statement confirming fitness to work (exam within last year)
• Fit test completed
• 2-Step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) test; if positive TB, chest x-ray required per regional guidelines
• Proof of immunizations or immunity for:

  • MMR (2 vaccinations or IgG titer)
  • Hepatitis B vaccination series (titers not accepted)
  • Varicella (1 vaccination or IgG titer)
  • COVID-19 vaccine with booster through September 2025, or approved declination/exemption (declination not accepted in CA or IL)
  • Tdap vaccine (declinations accepted if no pediatric interaction)
• Drug screening: 10-panel drug screen completed within 30 days of start (no THC)
• Background and compliance checks including:

  • Federal, nationwide, and county criminal background check (last 7 years)
  • Social Security Number verification
  • Education verification (highest degree or diploma/GED)
  • Exclusion screenings (OIG, EPLS, NSO)
  • Conflict of interest disclosure
  • Code of conduct agreement
  • Confidentiality and information security agreement
  • Integrity and audit services form
  • Non-employee upload form
  • System access form (completed one week before start)
  • Child and adult dependent abuse training (Iowa only)
  • Iowa-specific criminal history, sex offender, and abuse registry checks (within 30 days prior to start)
  • OFAC sanctions screening (within 30 days prior to start)
• Trinity Core Exam within the last year
• Skills checklist provided by agency for clinical contractors

Experience

• Minimum years of experience in Medical/Surgical/Telemetry nursing not explicitly stated; assume standard RN competency required
• No prior travel experience required
