- 40 hours per week plus call
Job Description
- Registered Nurse for Gastrointestinal (GI) Endoscopy procedures
- Must assist or circulate during advanced GI procedures such as:
- ERCP
- PEG placement
- EUS
- Spyglass
- FNA/FNB
- Capsule endoscopy
- Also involved with Bronchoscopies and EBUS
- Advanced procedure experience required
- Experience with moderate sedation and pain management preferred
- Prior travel experience strongly preferred
Required Certifications
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA Instructor, Provider, or RQI accepted
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA Instructor, Provider, or RQI accepted
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA Instructor, Provider, or RQI accepted
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
- Minimum of 1 year of endoscopy experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Required Qualifications & Compliance
- Must be able to work 5x8 hour shifts plus call
- Government-issued photo ID required
- Background check required (7-year check within 1 year of start, updated annually)
- E-Verify or attestation required
- Various state-specific employment and misconduct registry checks required within 30 days of start
- Education verification (highest level) required
- NURSYS verification required within 30 days of start
- Drug testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen including THC within 10 business days prior to start; facility will conduct additional drug screen on arrival
- Physical exam required within 1 year of start, must be completed within 72 hours of signing contract
- Fit mask (3M 1860 Regular or 1860S) required within 12 months of start, updated annually
- Immunizations and titers required within 72 hours of signing contract or as noted:
- TDAP (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (annual questionnaire for positive responders)
- Rubeola (Measles) - positive titer or 2 MMR vaccines
- Mumps - positive titer or 2 MMR vaccines
- Rubella - positive titer or 2 MMR vaccines
- Hepatitis B - positive titer, series, or declination
- Varicella - positive titer or 2 vaccines
- Seasonal flu vaccine required during flu season (with agency religious or medical exemption accepted)
- Various competency exams and medication/pharmacology tests as applicable
- Orientation and facility-specific documents and acknowledgments must be reviewed and signed prior to start

- Two professional references within 3 years required
- Copy of resume or employment application required
- Annual updates required for skills checklist and orientation safety manual acknowledgment
This position is ideal for an experienced RN with advanced GI procedure skills, who is comfortable working day shifts with call responsibilities, and who meets all licensure, certification, and compliance requirements for Texas. Prior travel experience is strongly preferred.
