Description
MRI Tech - Travel/Contract Position
Location: Charleston, South Carolina
Contract Length: 11 weeks
Position Details
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology (Mobile MRI Tech)
- Shift: Monday to Thursday, 4x10 hour shifts (7:00 AM - 5:30 PM)
- Daily caseload varies
- No on-call required
- Floating within scope of practice may be required
- Holidays worked if they fall on scheduled shift
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of MRI Technologist experience within the last year
- Required certifications/licenses:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- MR certification: ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT
Facility & Work Environment
- Teaching hospital with Magnet status and Level 1 Trauma designation
- Total staffed beds: 865
- Charting system: Epic
- Scrub color: Teal top, black bottom
- Parking: Paid only for nights and weekends; one-time $20 parking pass fee
- Emergency response team participation required (hurricane season June-November)
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Copy of Driver’s License and Social Security Card required
- Background check within 1 year including:
- SSN trace, national and state criminal checks, sex offender registry, FACIS 3, and international searches if applicable
- Employment history verification of last 3 clinical employers
- Education verification required; diploma or transcripts accepted as placeholder if needed
- Color blindness test required prior to start
- Competency exams required as applicable
- Clear, passport-style photo for badge (frontal view, solid light background, business casual attire) due before start
- Physical exam updated annually, attesting ability to meet physical demands
- Fit test for N95 mask within 90 days prior to start, renewed annually (specific mask models required)
- Immunizations and titers required or proof of vaccination/declination for:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or vaccination series)
- Varicella (chickenpox)
- Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
- Negative TB test (T-spot or Q-Gold) within 90 days or chest x-ray if prior positive
- Annual TB questionnaire required
- 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
- Seasonal flu vaccine or medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Aug 1 - Mar 31) with documentation uploaded before deadline
Additional Notes
- Locals accepted on a case-by-case basis
- Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
- All required documents and modules must be completed prior to orientation start; failure to complete may result in being sent home
- Travelers must upload COVID vaccination records if available; COVID vaccine not required but highly preferred
- Emergency response team participation required; travelers should consider hurricane season impact
