Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Nurse (Registered Nurse)

Location: Turnersville, New Jersey

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: Night shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Total Hours per Week: 36
• Floating assignments include mother-baby unit, baby catcher, and nursery
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday)
• Holiday Requirement: One summer holiday, one winter evening, and one winter night (assigned based on need)
• On-call: None
• Charting System: Epic
• Scrubs provided

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in New Jersey
• Labor and Delivery experience of at least 1 year, including experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• ACLS
• NRP

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Unexpired government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
• Background checks including:

  • 7-year criminal history check (all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years)
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks upon hire
• Education verification (official transcript acceptable; diploma not accepted)
• Professional references: 2 within last 2 years
• Work history verification: Minimum 1 year prior to start date verified (NJ state mandate)
• Facility-specific mandatory education modules (approx. 6 hours, completed before orientation)
• Signed acknowledgements for safety manual and pass/fail testing

Health and Safety Requirements

• Physical exam within 2 months of start date
• Fit test for N95 mask (3M 1870+ model) within 12 months prior to start (must be completed before start)
• Current Tdap vaccine or titer
• Negative TB test (Qgold or TSPOT within 90 days of start; chest X-ray if positive)
• Annual TB questionnaire
• Immunizations or titers for:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (series, titer, or declination accepted)
  • Varicella
• 10-panel drug screen within 60 days prior to start
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 – Apr 1)
• COVID-19 vaccine no longer required prior to start; however, medical/religious exemptions require mask use at work and COVID booster is required for NJ locations

Competency and Testing

• Pass/fail basic dysrhythmia exam during orientation (one attempt only; failure results in contract cancellation)
• Medication/pharmacology competency exam as applicable
• Annual skills checklist for applicable unit

Additional Notes

• No on-call duties
• Floating to related units within maternal/infant care
• Scrubs provided onsite
• No prior travel experience required; first-time travel nurses are welcome

This position offers a focused Labor and Delivery nursing role on nights with a defined schedule and clear certification and compliance requirements, suitable for nurses with at least one year of experience in the specialty.
