Operating Room Registered Nurse - Travel/Contract

Location: Gaffney, South Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (Operating Room)
• Shift: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM (Day shift, 5x8 hours)
• Hours per Week: 40
• Patient Load: 5-7 patients daily
• Start Date: ASAP
• Call: No call required; 1-2 late stays per week to complete cases (no floating outside scope)
• Block Scheduling: Not accommodated
• Local Candidates: Not accepted within 75 miles radius
• Pending License: Accepted if obtained prior to start
• Return to Office (RTO): No or limited RTO allowed; all RTO must be declared upfront

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in South Carolina
• Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) Circulate experience, including experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Certifications:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) issued by the American Heart Association

Compliance & Background Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID (carried during hours of service)
• Social Security Card (if used for I9)
• Proof of E-Verify or Attestation
• 7-year criminal background check within 1 year of start, updated annually (all locations lived/worked in past 7 years)
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start, updated for renewals
• Education verification of highest nursing degree (associate, bachelor, master, or doctorate)
• South Carolina SLED criminal records search required regardless of residency
• Employment application required
• Skills checklist updated annually for applicable units

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start, updated annually
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 3 months of start (facility-specific form required)
• Immunizations or proof of immunity (2 vaccines, positive titer, or approved exemption) for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Varicella
• Hepatitis B: record of vaccination series, positive titer, or signed declination
• Seasonal flu vaccination or declination (mask required if declined during flu season Nov 1 - Mar 31)
• COVID-19: Dose 1 and 2 required or declination form
• Drug screening within 90 days of start (10 panel + Oxycodone + Marijuana)
• Respiratory safety clearance within 1 year if respirator use is required

• Photo for badge required (headshot on plain background)
• Facility-specific documents and compliance checklists must be completed prior to start
• Candidates must pass all required exams by the second attempt
• No floating outside of scope to meet facility needs

This position is ideal for OR RNs with at least 2 years of experience seeking a weekday day-shift travel assignment with no call and limited late stays. First-time travelers are welcome.
