Registered Nurse (RN) - CCU
Location: Santa Fe, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel
Shift: Days, 7 AM – 7 PM
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Experience Required: Minimum 1 year of RN experience in specialty
Job Summary
The Registered Nurse coordinates and implements patient care tailored to the age and needs of the patient population on assigned units. Ensures quality, efficient, and safe care consistent with unit standards. Demonstrates professionalism, respect, and effective communication with staff, physicians, patients, and families.
Responsibilities
- Perform initial patient assessments and prioritize care based on age, symptoms, and psychosocial needs.
- Systematically reassess patients to monitor progress and identify when interventions are needed.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care within established nursing standards.
- Make comprehensive nursing decisions and modify care plans based on patient outcomes.
- Participate in patient and family health education and discharge planning.
- Perform Point of Care testing procedures as required.
- Delegate and coordinate unit work assignments to ensure completion of patient care support activities.
- Serve as a resource for staff, visitors, and physicians; assist with orientation of new staff and students.
- Promote a positive, professional work environment and collaborate to achieve unit and organizational goals.
- Exhibit behaviors that foster patient/customer satisfaction, respect for rights and confidentiality, and teamwork.
- Adapt to changes in work environment or schedule with flexibility and maintain a positive attitude under stress.
- Comply with all policies related to patient and environmental safety, attendance, and professional conduct.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in New Mexico
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 1 year of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience within the last year
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
- Current TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification
Additional Information
- Floating to other units as needed is required.
- Full-time position with a 12-hour day shift schedule.
