• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Day shifts
• Hours: 8 hours per day, approximately 36 hours per week
• Call Requirements:

  • Weeknights: On-call 1-2 times per week, late stay rotations, approximately 15.5 hours of weeknight call
  • Weekends: On-call 1-2 times per month, 24-hour call shifts (Saturday 06:45–06:45 Sunday)
  • Holidays: May be asked to participate in holiday call rotations including day before, day of, and day after; holiday coverage may extend to adjacent weekends
• Call Response Time: 30 minutes
• Scheduling: Block scheduling managed by the manager; flexibility required to fill gaps in permanent schedule

• Common Case Types:

  • General surgery
  • Orthopedic/sports medicine (including total joints)
  • Plastics and cosmetics (preferred experience)
  • Podiatry
  • Cataracts/Eye procedures
  • OB/GYN/Women’s Health (non-cancer related)
  • Endoscopy/Colonoscopy
• Facility Type: Rural community hospital with a wide variety of cases; similar in size to Trauma Level 3 & 4 or Critical Access Hospitals
• EMR System: Cerner/Oracle
• Floating: May be asked to float into OR scrub role, PAA/PACU, sterile processing, or other support roles
• Orientation: 1-2 shifts with preceptor plus 1-2 call shifts with preceptor
• Dress Code: Scrub color provided at facility (cannot be worn outside); must arrive presentable

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of RN experience in Operating Room
• Experience circulating in various cases, with specific experience in general surgery and orthopedic total joints
• Preferred plastics experience
• BLS Certification required
• ACLS Certification is a plus
• Scrubbing: Circulating required; scrub experience preferred

Additional Notes

• Charge nurse available for OR/PAA/PACU
• OR techs present
• Radius rule: 100 miles from facility
