Registered Nurse – ER (Washington, Toppenish)
Position Details
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 19:00–7:00)
- Hours per Week: 36
Required Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in Emergency Room (ER)
Required Certifications & Licenses
- Current Washington RN license (compact license accepted with additional state requirements)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA or ARC certification
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA or ARC certification
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – AHA or ARC certification
- NIH Stroke Scale certification
Required Background Checks & Verifications
- 10-year criminal background check including SSN trace, all alias/name changes, statewide searches for all states lived/worked in last 10 years, national criminal, sex offender registry, and education verification
- EPLS/GSA/SAM check
- HHS/OIG check
- Washington State Patrol (WSP/WATCH) search within 30 days of start
- Education verification
- Employment history verification covering all states lived/worked
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam with physician’s statement within 1 year of start
- Fit testing for N95 mask onsite (required annually; no PAPR testing; failure disqualifies from TB isolation care)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine or signed declination
- Negative TB test (QGold or T-SPOT within 30 days of start; chest X-ray if positive within 1 year)
- Annual TB questionnaire
- Immunity or vaccination for:
- Measles (Rubeola)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B
- Varicella (Chickenpox)
- 12-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (facility does not accept instant tests)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination by November 1 (decliners must wear a mask on shift)
Additional Requirements
- Photo for badge (headshot, shoulders up, plain white background)
- Completion of facility-specific onboarding documents including Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreements, and New Employee Information Sheet (time sensitive)
- Fit test performed onsite after orientation
- Must provide 3 recent employment references
- Employment application including verification of all states lived/worked in
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Washington
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience
- ED experience within the last year
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
Preferred Certifications (Not Required at Start)
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) preferred at start; required at 6 months
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) preferred for Behavioral Health
- Professional Assault Crisis Training (ProAct) required within 6 months for Behavioral Health RNs
Note: Candidates must have license and certifications in hand prior to start. Regional facility does not allow candidates to update certifications onsite.
