Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology Technologist
Location: Aurora, Colorado
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology (Interventional Radiology Tech)
- Shift: Day shift, 4x10 hour shifts (typically 7:30 AM - 6:00 PM, occasionally starting at 7:00 AM)
- Work Days: Monday through Friday with required weekend call every 4-6 weeks
- On-Call Requirements:
- Weeknight call once per week (6:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
- Weekend call from Friday 6:00 PM through Monday 7:30 AM
- Patient Ratio: 1:2
- Charting System: Epic
- Equipment Used: Siemens
- Scrubs: Provided
Job Environment and Responsibilities
- Work in a fast-paced, high-turnover, 8-room procedural Interventional Radiology unit
- Facility is a Level I trauma hospital
- Patient population includes both outpatients and critically ill inpatients, including emergent trauma and stroke patients
- Procedures performed include embolizations (neuro and body), drain placements/exchanges, central line placements, Y90 planning and implant, among others
- Typically, 1 RN and 1-2 Radiology Techs are present in the room per procedure
- No floating to other units required
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist, with experience within the last year
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Valid Driver’s License/State ID (clear copies front and back)
- E-Verify or Attestation
- Proof of legal name change if applicable
- Background checks including:
- 7-year background check within 60 days of start
- Social Security Number trace
- Colorado state and national criminal background checks
- Education verification (3rd party or transcript/diploma)
- Federal exclusion lists (EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG)
- State license verification (Colorado license required)
- Health documents:
- Physical exam within 1 year, signed by MD, DO, NP, or PA
- Fit mask test within 12 months (specific mask models required)
- Immunizations and titers: TDAP, MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella), Hepatitis B, Varicella
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Drug testing within 30 days of start
- COVID vaccine proof or signed declination
- Color blindness testing (Ishihara exam required)
- Competency exams and annual updates required, including medication test, core competencies, OSHA, and dysrhythmia/EKG competency
- References: Two references from the last two years, including one from the last year, from charge RN, manager, or supervisor
- Employment history verification for the last 3 years with explanations for gaps over 30 days
Additional Information
- Parking: Must park in shuttle lot except when on-call
- Time off (RTO) limited to 10 days maximum; no RTO allowed during specified blackout periods in 2026
- Facility-specific orientation and training modules must be completed within the first two weeks of assignment
- This is a high-acuity environment requiring ability to work under pressure and manage emergent cases
This position is ideal for experienced Interventional Radiology Technologists seeking a challenging travel assignment in a Level I trauma center with a strong procedural focus.
