Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - ER (Night Shift)
Location: Wichita Falls, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Schedule
- Night shift options:
- 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
- 4 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
- Alternating 36/48 hour schedule
- Facility schedules 84 hours biweekly with a 72-hour guarantee
Required Experience
- Minimum 3 years of nursing experience preferred
- No first-time travelers accepted
- Candidates with 2 years of experience may be considered if experience is in a high volume or trauma facility
Required Certifications & Licenses
- Current Registered Nurse license valid in Texas
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC only (Instructor, Provider, or RQI acceptable)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or ARC only (Instructor, Provider, or RQI acceptable)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA or ARC only (Instructor, Provider, or RQI acceptable)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) - Required as applicable
- NIH Stroke Certification - Required as applicable
- Other certifications such as NRP, CHEMO, EFM, ENPC may be required as applicable
Required Background & Compliance
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
- Background check within 1 year of start, including SS trace, county searches for last 7 years, nationwide, and sex offender registry
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
- NURSYS verification for RN license within 30 days of start
- E-Verify or attestation required
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start (must be completed within 72 hours of contract signing)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start (2-step PPD, Q Gold, or TSpot acceptable)
- Required vaccinations or positive titers (or approved exemptions) for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B
- Varicella
- Seasonal Flu Vaccine (required between October 1 and May 31; medical/religious exemptions subject to review)
- COVID-19 vaccination documentation required
- Drug testing: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 1 year of start (instant acceptable), plan for completion within 72 hours of contract signing
Additional Requirements
- 2 professional references within 3 years of start
- Resume or employment application required
- Annual updates for skills checklist and orientation safety manual acknowledgment
- Completion of facility-specific documents prior to start, including parking policy acknowledgment and orientation materials
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
- Minimum of 1 year Emergency Department (ED) experience within the last year
- Completion of at least one travel nursing assignment
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- ACLS certification
- BLS certification issued by American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)
- PALS certification
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
Notes
- Prior travel experience is required; first-time travelers will not be accepted
- Facility-specific exemptions for flu vaccine available but require submission and approval
- Competency exams and medication/pharmacology tests required as applicable by profession
